My daughter loves this coloring book because it’s also a story! Follow a witch cat as she sweeps out the ghosts, cares for her greenhouse plants, visits a gryph in the enchanted forest where she collects more plants, concocts a magic potion, and does other daily witchy activities. It isn't the most in-depth program in the world, but it can cover you in a pinch and give you something to do if you need to kill some time.

That half an inch of paper is to fold back and create a “stand” for the object. Glue the “stands” into the shoebox, and voilà – you have a nifty diorama to show off.

In fact, all our testers really loved this book (who wouldn’t be won over by a group of smiley jellyfish, hey?) and it was certainly one they asked for regularly. All this, plus a set of 30 sparkly gem stickers – just the trick for decorating the mermaids’ hair and tails – made it excellent value for money.

Our six year old definitely fits the brief and was suitably impressed with the realistic illustrations and coloring books bulk accompanying statistics – they are a big fan of a dinosaur fact.

For younger kids, you can make the pieces bigger, and for older ones, you can make the pieces smaller. Have the children cut out the pieces and keep them in a plastic baggy.
